Gamma Chapter began on May 5th, 2000, with two tenacious founding mothers who sought to bring CSU Stanislaus with the ideal multicultural sorority. The definition we follow reads, “ Multiculturalism is an appreciation of the different cultures in our sorority and around us; an acknowledgment of the different values and equality of diverse groups." In order to achieve this goal of multiculturalism, we emphasize on our pillars of sisterhood, academics, and community service.
Our sisterhood is “A sisterhood 2 tight 2 break”. Most of us found a second family in this sorority in which there is always a sister that can help you up when you’re down. Our favorite past times are movie nights, eating different foods, and performing. So far, we are the only organization on campus that traditionally steps and strolls.
One thing that we all have in common is our need to succeed in school. Education is very important to us, so we implement weekly study hours and mandatory study nights, especially during finals.
For community service, our sisters love to walk! We walk for cancer at Relay For Life and walk again for premature babies at March of dimes. However, we are constantly spending time with our friends at our local convalescent home. We also help other organizations by performing and face painting.
As sisters of Upsilon Kappa Delta, we are proud and always will be of our letters and what they stand for. Unity. Knowledge. Destiny.
